Conductor: Wade Noble, B.Mus., M.Mus. (U.Vic.)

 

Wade has lived in Victoria since 1987, during which time he has completed two music degrees and has become an active performer, conductor, instructor and clinician throughout Vancouver Island.

Wade has earned a reputation as an intelligent and sensitive musician and, in addition to his numerous conducting appointments, performs regularly as a baritone soloist throughout British Columbia.

An enthusiastic and exuberant conductor, Wade is well known for being able to bring out high levels of musicianship from people of widely varying skills and backgrounds. He is dedicated to inspiring the musicians who work with him to reach past their limits and take on increasingly challenging works.

In addition to his work with Nanaimo's Malaspina Choir, Wade is the founding conductor and artistic director of Victoria's Camosun Choral Society.  Wade also plies his trade in Sooke conducting the Sooke Philharmonic Chorus and Ekoos Vocal Ensemble, and during the summer months he commutes to Comox to conduct the CYMC Festival Chorus.

Accompanist: Rie Okamura
BA (Ritsumeikan University), BMus (University of Victoria)

A native of Osaka, Japan, Rie is a graduate of the Bachelor of Music performance program at the University of Victoria where she studied with Arthur Rowe.

Rie enjoys performing solo piano, chamber music, accompanying choral groups, and collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists. Her background includes extensive studies in instrumental accompanying with Anne Epperson at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara.

Rie lives and teaches in Nanaimo, and performs on Vancouver Island.
