Information for Members
Our Choir rehearses from September to December (Fall
Season) and from January to May (Spring Season). We practice in the
choral room at Malaspina University College in Nanaimo, and rehearsals
usually run from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Tuesday nights. Sectional
practices are usually scheduled for one hour immediately preceding regular
rehearsals. Locations are on the
Rehearsals page. We do accept new members in both September and
January. (Members joining in January pay for a half year only.)

The first regular rehearsal of the Fall Season will be on September 4,
2007. Registration begins at
6 p.m. for current members. If you are interested in joining us, please do
come to this rehearsal around 6:30 and identify yourself to Inge Fleet,
the Choir's Registrar. We will be meeting in the Music Building, Room
105. Bring your filled-in

Building is
#320, and is located roughly between the art gallery and the cafeteria.
Please refer to the Malaspina

map. Please note: all new members will be asked to
participate in a brief audition with Wade. (All returning
members should have done this last year; if not, please talk to
Wade.) Wade wants to hear
all our voices individually and ensure that all members are placed in the
appropriate section. DO NOT be nervous about this - it will be
painless and very very fast, five minutes at the most....
Parking at Malaspina College: It will cost $2 to park for rehearsals ($0.50/hour or $2.00 for 9 hours).
Please note: We are a
fragrance-free choir: this means no scented hair sprays, no perfumes,
no colognes, no scented cream etc. If you need to use hairspray,
unscented varieties are available. Several members have been concerned
about this issue, and we want everyone to be able to breathe and sing
their best. The conductor and many choir members have a severe sensitivity to scents.
For health reasons, if Wade notices a fragrance, he will ask you to leave
the rehearsal. |
