conductor: Mari án Šipoš

ad una corda

1867-1914
A singing society in Pezinok was established in November 1867. They have had successful concerts since 1910. The Chorale performed at civic celebrations as well as in masses and services in Catholic and Protestant Churches. Franciscan Father Odorik Follrich began forming Pezinok's Church Choir in 1914.Under the leadership of a great artist Eugen Suchoò the choir was transformed into a mixed choir. In the 50s, the activities of the choir were limited due to a communist anti-religion repression. In these difficult conditions the choir practiced in private houses under the guidance of Jarolim Šipoš. The choir did not cease to exist in the period of communist dictatorship, but it could not develop completely. Marian Šipoš is the last conductor and he replaced his father.
1914 - 1987
Today the Pezinok's church choir AD UNA CORDA performs mainly classical and modern church music. There are choral modifications of Slovak national folk songs in its repertoire, too. The choir took part in various competitions, festivals and concerts. The greatest achievements of the choir are awards at various international competitions - Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina in Rome, Italy (1994 - special prize), Celebrations of music in Olomouc, Czech Republic (1998 - 1st place) Quentin, France (2000 - 3rd place) and Malta choir competition in Valletta, Malta (2002 - 1st place).
1987-2003
The choir took part in a number of music festivals in Italy, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. In 1999 he successfully performed a concert tour in the USA. It cooperated with the orchestra of folk instruments "Radio Bratislava" in 1998-1999. Besides concerts the choir performs vocal-instrumental compositions at important masses. It performed for the first time a mass by a young Slovak composer Mirko Krajèi in July 1998 in Bratislava. In October 2001, she presented with the Orchestra of the State Conservatoire the opening of Missa Brevis in B, Mass by JL Bella in the Slovak Philharmonic. Every second year the choir AD UNA CORDA organizes an international festival of church choirs in Pezinok.
